Ranjit Tamuli on Wednesday took charge as the new Vice Chancellor (VC) of Dibrugarh University. Set up in 1965, Dibrugarh University is the easternmost university of the country.

The outgoing Vice Chancellor Alak Kumar Buragohain formally welcomed the new VC and handed over the charge. Earlier, Tamuli served as the Controller of Examination and Registrar in-charge of the Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.

The appointment formalities were carried out at the VC office in presence of Registrar MN Dutta. The Deans of Schools, Controller of Examination, Joint Registrars, Joint Controllers, Officers Association and Employees Association of the University greeted the new Vice Chancellor on assuming duty.
