On Monday Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid homage to the victims of serial bomb blast that took place at CJM Court and Ganeshguri killing 90 people in 2008.
In a function at the Ganeshguri flyover, wherein the first blast killed some 70 people, Sonowal recalled the disaster and said the administration was taking all action to nab the culprits.
Along with Guwahati the bomb blasts occurred at Kokrajhar, Barpeta Road and Bongaigaon on October 30, 2008 claiming nearly 100 lives and leaving over 470 people injured.
The banned anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) was behind this incident and its chairman Ranjan Daimary was named as the prime accused. Daimary was arrested but is yet to be convicted.
